How to share photos with family on iPhone
There are several ways to share photos with family from your iPhone — by text message, by email, or by setting up a shared photo album that everyone can add to. This guide covers all three.
-
Open the Photos app
Find the multicolored flower icon on your Home Screen and tap it.
-
To share a few photos by text or email
Tap "Select" in the top-right, then tap each photo you want to share (a blue checkmark appears). Tap the share icon (a box with an arrow pointing up) in the bottom-left. Then tap "Messages" to send by text, or "Mail" to send by email. Pick the person and tap Send.
-
To set up a shared album (best for family)
Go back to the Photos app and tap "Albums" at the bottom. Scroll down to "Shared Albums" and tap the "+" button. Tap "New Shared Album."
-
Name the album and invite people
Type a name (like "Birthdays" or "Grandkids"). Tap Next. Type the names or email addresses of family members you want to share with. They'll get an invitation. Tap "Create."
-
Add photos to the shared album
Open the album. Tap the "+" sign to pick photos to add. Anyone in the album can also add their own photos and comment on yours.
