How to make text bigger on your iPhone

If text in apps and websites looks small or hard to read, you can make everything bigger on your iPhone in about a minute. This works on all recent iPhone models running iOS 17 or later.

  1. Open the Settings app

Find the gray icon with gears on it on your Home Screen and tap it. Settings is usually on the first or second page of your Home Screen.

  2. Tap "Display & Brightness"

Scroll down a bit until you see "Display & Brightness." It has a small picture of the sun icon next to it. Tap that row.

  3. Tap "Text Size"

Near the bottom of the Display & Brightness page, you'll see "Text Size." Tap it.

  4. Drag the slider to the right

You'll see a slider with dots along it. The dots on the right make text bigger; the dots on the left make it smaller. Drag the dot to the right. The sample text at the top of the screen changes so you can see how it will look.

  5. Make it even bigger if you need to

If the largest size on this slider still isn't big enough, go back to Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text. Turn on "Larger Accessibility Sizes." This gives you a longer slider with much bigger sizes.
